(15:44:34) me: it was near where the library was
(15:45:45) me: i remember the big room with all the piles of stuff, and yes i saw that and u let me get it. it was used and kinda beat up but still worked. i think it had little headlights that popped up in the front – i wish these pix had the other angle

Shocking! Accidents that have terrified the world! Some escape with life, others not
I remember owning one during early 80′s. So simple, but yet, so much fun pretending i’m driving like my dad.

I loved this when I was a kid, the tactile response from all the ‘real’ controls is what made it fun. I can still remember turning out all the lights in my room, so I could ‘night drive’ … miss that thing.

I was and it sucked. There was no resistance to the controls. Didnt feel real at all. Broke after an hour of use, was really only fun for about 5 minutes or till your mom start bitching about the noises it made, because she was secretly pissed you liked the toy you father picked out over the box-labeled “educational toy that kids cant get enough of”. The funny thing was that thing was considered the very high tech at the time and the only thing higher tech then that (for the masses) was an Atari. I suggest you people youtube up videos of what passed for home gaming in 1980; most people would just go to an arcade.
I didn’t realize what it was from the thumbnail on reddit, but seeing this larger picture I realized I had one of those when I was a kid! Sweet. I’m old enough!

Awesome. Me and my brother had this and some airplane. The airplane toy is dead, but this one still works like a hammer.

i definitely had that thing. for the life of my i couldn’t get it to work though. maybe i was too young to understand the concept of batteries.
Wow! Thanks for the memories. Years of therapy had helped me repress that into believing such devices were fantasy. Oh yes, I remember playing that! In case it is not clear to those having never played it, if I recall correctly, the “screen” was a rotating translucent sheet of plastic.

lol, i still got a working one somewhere in the basement
My cousin had one that looked like this, and we used it to pretend we were Michael Knight driving K.I.T.T. because the dash kinda looked like K.I.T.T. with the Turbo, and the digital speedo being the same.

Yes!! My cousin had one, this was in the early 90′s too
Ahh! Feels so good to know that we had great non-melding toys when we were younger.

Definitely spent a few hours of my childhood playing on one of these. Just looking at the picture brings back a lot of memories.
I was already over 40 years old when these came out. This is just making me feel OLD!
Wow. I’m speechless. I’ve never flashed back like that from seeing something online. Dorky. Simple needs indeed.
OMG I loved this thing. I remember when I first got it.
Wow thanks for the blast from the past!
I had one of these! It would make this grinding noise, as the transparent tape that made up the videogame spun around.
Crazy, I forgot about this toy.
Amazing! Thanks!

I had one of these also. Brings back a lot of fond memories. Thanks for resurrecting this.
I had one of these! Actually (kinda spoiled) I had two: one was a car and the other a motorcyle–and I wasn’t even born till the mide 80′s!
haha yeah that really brings back the memories. Times were simpler back then — just a light bulb and a steering wheel

Back in the day, my friend had one, remember playing on it thinking i was Nigel Mansell
WOW, i remember this wow great memories!
i was born in 91 and i too remember these fuckers
man they were the shit back in the day (well..back in “my” day)
omfg! hell yeah that was the shit!
Hell yeah, I was born in ’88 and remember having one of these. Why were 80′s and 90′s toys so much cooler than now..?
totally had one of these…it was sweet..
i am now obsessed with vehicles…anythin with wheels/engine
I totally had one of these. idk why but I did. it was fun to play with once and awhile.
I used to spend hours after elementary playing this. Till I went out on my bike tryna pretend i was a racer. LOL talking way back…Ahhh good times

Having never encountered these devices before, they actually seem somewhat innovative.
Damn! I haven’t seen one of those in years. I used to have one. Pretty damn cool at the time.
I had this exact thing. Loved it. Used to pretend it was nightrider.
i had one of those!
All of you fags can suck 10 dicks, i had the car and the motorbike.
I enjoyed this thing a lot(Back then)
I think I might consider searching for it in my old stuff
OMFG! I had this back when I was little, that’s so awesome!
